Professor Wolfenden is a NHMRC Career Development Fellow and National Heart Foundation Future Leaders Fellow and a Health Program Manager and a Public Health Unit (Hunter New England Population Health) where is responsible for the provision of health promotion services to a community of approx. 900,000 residents.
He is an implementation scientist and Director of the NHMRC funded National Centre of Implementation Science. He is also the Co-Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for NCD Program Implementation and joint Co-ordinating Editor of Cochrane Public Health.
His research seeks to reduce the burden of chronic disease in the community through undertaking policy relevant evidence syntheses, trialling interventions to reduce modifiable chronic disease risks, and trialling implementation strategies to increase the adoption and implementation of evidence based interventions.
