Master Lecturer
Carol Maher is NHMRC Career Development Fellow and Associate Research Professor in the Alliance for Research in Exercise, Nutrition and Activity (ARENA) at the University of South Australia.
Her research focusses on how daily activity patterns (e.g. physical activity, sleep and sedentary behaviours) impact on health and wellbeing. In particular, she’s interested in developing programs that help people improve their lifestyle and health, and which can be delivered at scale to impact Australian communities positively.
Her work explores how technologies such as wearables, online social networking, mobile phone apps, gamification and notifications can support people make better lifestyle choices, in a fun, engaging way.
A/Prof Maher has published over 160 peer-review papers and received over $12M in research funding.
